Frequently asked questions
No, it is not a good idea to use any form of chemical, salt or otherwise to remove snow or ice from your concrete. These products encourage concrete spalling ( peeling ) of the surface.
All concrete should be sealed periodically to protect the surface from environmental changes and ice melting chemicals. On high traffic areas (driveways) it should be done at least once every two years, Lower traffic areas (patios) every 3 years.
Stamped concrete is beautiful and luxurious. It gives outdoor living spaces a feeling of opulence. In a patio or deck area stamped concrete adds a level of beauty out performing all other styles of concrete, but I personally would not recommend it for a driveway in our environment. There is a lot of heavy traffic and moisture to deal with on a driveway, where on a patio area the stressors will be less.
Very seldom does concrete not crack. We try to determine where the concrete is going to crack most likely and install our cuts there in hopes that the concrete will crack there and be disguised by the cut line.
